Job Summary
Greet and check in patients entering the medical facility, verify information, and schedule appointments. Update the Electronic Health record (EHR), complete healthcare and insurance forms, and collect payments for services. Facilitate intake procedures while ensuring patient privacy and adhering to all organizational, local/state/federal regulations. Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, families, and healthcare providers through effective communication. Adheres to standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Work independently and as part of the team, prioritizing assignments in an environment with interruptions.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience
- 1 year of recent relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of insurance policies and procedures, as well as patient billing
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Written and verbal communications skills
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
- General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's Protected Health Information (PHI)
