Job Summary
Patient Services Representative is the first/last point of contact for patients in the clinic, ensuring friendly, professional processing of patient demographics, insurance information, and care coordination. On-site role requiring in-person collaboration with providers and staff, routine use of EHR systems, scheduling and re-scheduling appointments, verifying insurance and obtaining pre-authorization numbers when required, and maintaining confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA. Strong communication, organizational, and data-entry skills, with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Teams, and the ability to work across multiple tasks in a patient-facing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of related medical clerical experience or completed medical secretarial program
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Knowledge of HIPAA and other compliance requirements (preferred)
