Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative role supports Medical and administrative workflows for Veterans Affairs at FalconTek. Responsibilities include interpreting and verifying provider orders per VHA scheduling directives, scheduling/canceling/re-scheduling patient appointments, entering recall reminders and workload credits, processing insurance capture and ROI documentation, facilitating secure messaging with patients (MyHealtheVet) and providers, and coordinating travel arrangements and transportation for eligible patients. Additional duties include scanning and indexing medical records into the EMR, assisting VA Community Care staff with appointment coordination, and ensuring accurate data entry and documentation within the EMR (VISTA/CPRS/GUI). The position requires effective communication, English proficiency, US citizenship, REAL ID, and a combination of experience and education (six months clerical/administrative experience and at least one year above high school). Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM in San Diego, CA, with potential government background investigation and a start timeline of about 45 days.

Required Qualifications

  • Six months experience of clerical, office, customer service, or other administrative work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position
  • One year above high school
  • Average 40 wpm, as data entry is a main responsibility of this position
  • Must possess the ability to communicate effectively and professionally interdisciplinary team members and to provide optimal customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English
  • Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Knowledge of the operation of several types of office equipment and software/databases relative to data extraction and inputting
  • Basic knowledge of the functionality of the computerized patient record
