Job Summary
Greet patients and guests using AIDET while managing registration functions, updating demographics, and validating insurance information. Make appointments for physician visits, imaging, and labs, then collect co-pays and reconcile cash drawers daily. Perform patient outreach for MyChart messages and confirmation calls, utilizing kiosks and tablets to assist arrivals. Document patient records, process referrals, precertifications, and authorizations, and comply with regulatory standards. Requires standing and walking for two to eight hours per shift in a fast-paced environment. Minimum one year of medical facility registration or billing experience preferred, along with Epic proficiency and CHAA certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Must be skilled in the use of computers
- Minimum one year of recent registration or billing experience working in a medical facility
- Proficiency in patient registration, scheduling, medical insurance pre-certifications, authorizations and referrals
- Epic experience
- NAHAM Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification
- Customer service-oriented attitude/behavior as well as a pleasant and poised demeanor and excellent phone etiquette
- Requires flexibility and the ability to multitask in a face paced environment and adjust to the patient volume
- Must be able to stand and walk for periods of time depending on location for two to eight (2-8) hours per assigned shift
Desired Qualifications
