Job Summary
Assist patients with menu selection and accurate cash and charge transactions while assembling, delivering trays, snacks, tube feedings, and nourishment. Perform food preparation, storage, and general sanitation duties, including ring-up sales, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits. Log temperatures per documentation requirements and provide catering services for events and meetings. Meet with patients to obtain menu and snack selections based on physician diet orders. Complete general food service tasks such as storeroom duties, tray assembly, and related cleaning. Work four 10-hour shifts with rotating weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One or more years of food service experience
- SERV-Safe Certification or equivalent certification from the Virginia Health Department or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire date
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Must provide own transportation and travel to other Carilion work sites
- Must be available for rotating weekends
- Must be available for four 10 hour shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to work at other Carilion facilities to meet staffing needs
- Must be able to work during emergency weather conditions as emergency personnel
Desired Qualifications

- One or more years of food service experience preferred
