Job Summary
Welcome patients and visitors by delivering high-quality customer service and managing heavy phone reception, including patient triage and escalation. Handle face-to-face and over-the-phone scheduling requests, collect patient balances, and verify insurance benefits. Perform registration procedures, manage patient chart data, and process responsibility payments while maintaining clean work environments. Prepare paperwork, scan emails, and fax documents to facilitate efficient operations. Assist in training and mentoring new staff within the department. Support management and staff with daily office duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Available to work opening, mid and closing shifts
- 6:30am to 8:00pm Monday through Thursday
- 7:00am to 5:30pm on Fridays
- Occasional travel to nearby clinics to assist with Front Desk Coverage
- NO WEEKENDS!
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three years experience in customer service role
- Minimum 1 year in a patient services related role
- Must be a team player
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible schedule as needed
- Neat, professional appearance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Results oriented with concern for appropriate process
- Willingness to attend and successfully complete ongoing training
- Ability to lift 20 pounds to waist height
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of a changing scheduling environment
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree preferred (healthcare concentration field a plus)
- Medical office experience is a plus
- EHR experience with Epic experience preferred
- Knowledge in medical terminology preferred
- Familiarity with scheduling and rearranging appointments
- Possess good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
- Insurance payer and eligibility knowledge
