Job Summary
Assist patients with direct care, mobility activities, and grooming while documenting vital signs, ADLs, and I&O per standards. Process bulk storage, peripheral sticks, and blood cultures; perform pod audits and glucometer checks. Act as a preceptor for new patient care technicians and support the charge nurse with assigned duties. Transport patients to hospital areas as directed and facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges. Accept direction from the Registered Nurse and communicate patient requests or complaints promptly. Maintain appropriate grooming and serve as a role model for the patient care team.
Required Qualifications
- Current University of Arkansas System employee, including student employees and graduate assistants
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 Year patient care in a healthcare setting
- Annual TB Screening
- Criminal Background Check
- Substance Abuse Testing
