Job Summary
Patient Service Specialist-Ophthalmology role focused on frontline, full-time front office support in a medical setting. Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering and routing calls, scheduling and maintaining patient appointments electronically, verifying patient demographics and insurance details, verifying insurance eligibility, handling copays and balances, cash-out and balancing, facilitating communication between patients and clinical staff, maintaining HIPAA confidentiality, and participating in quality initiatives within a team-oriented environment. Requires strong communication, organizational, and computer skills, with knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Education: High School diploma or GED required; medical office assistant training preferred.
