Job Summary

Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering calls, configuring appointment schedules, collecting insurance information and copays, maintaining patient records and demographics, verifying eligibility with carriers, and balancing daily cash, while ensuring HIPAA compliance. Requires strong communication, punctuality, attention to detail, and teamwork in a modern medical practice. Education: HS diploma/GED required; MOA program preferred. Experience: 1+ year in customer service preferred; medical terminology/office experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED required
- Graduation from a Medical Office Assistant school preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service experience preferred
- Medical office experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Must be comfortable with computers and learning new applications
- Able to greet patients professionally and courteously
- Able to schedule and maintain patient appointments electronically
- Ability to verify eligibility for major insurance carriers
- Ability to collect copayments, deductibles, deposits, or unpaid balances
- HIPAA confidentiality awareness
