Job Summary
Patient Service Specialist at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital responsible for patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, co-pay collection, and educating patients on MyChart/Appointment Pass within the Emergency Department Admitting and Registration. The role focuses on delivering a comprehensive, proactive and ‘Patients First’ experience, triaging and resolving patient issues, creating a welcoming environment, and maintaining accurate and confidential patient information while supporting front-end technology and outreach activities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and two years of experience in patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance processing or customer service OR an Associate15s Degree and one year of experience OR a Bachelor15s Degree
- Working knowledge of PC window applications
- Ability to perform basic math sufficient to process insurance co-pays
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred)
- Typing minimum 30 words per minute (preferred)
- Medical office system experience (preferred)
- Customer service experience in a medical setting (preferred)
