Job Summary
Make appointments for patients, verify return needs, and confirm insurance details before closing encounters in eClinicalWorks. Perform financial and data entry tasks, collect payments from self-pay patients, and coordinate with the Billing department for difficult requests or payment contracts. Verify Medicaid eligibility, scan forms into patient files, and log all daily payments and document requests. Respond to patient inquiries, complete medical records and lab requests, and prepare closing reports while maintaining accurate files for billing procedures. Participate in cross-training for Registrar tasks and perform marketing functions as required.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Superior customer service skills and experience
- Flexible and solutions driven
- Responsive and comfortable working in the fast paced high accountability environment with different types of providers
- Provides assistance to patients in a compassionate, caring, cheerful and concerned manner
- Passionate about providing high quality care to low income, under-served residents and those lacking access to health care
- Maintains patient confidentiality at all times
- Engaged in learning and continuous quality improvement
- Outstanding verbal and written communications, with a culturally diverse patient and staff population
- Maintains a safe environment of care for patients and staff
