Patient Service Representative - Urology

Job Summary
Greet patients and families, direct them appropriately, and schedule appointments and tests efficiently. Answer telephone calls promptly, collect cash payments, issue receipts, and post payments while reconciling daily collections and batches. Process insurance verifications, update patient accounts, and verify demographics, insurance, and HIPAA forms. Schedule diagnostic orders, refer patients to financial counselors, and complete necessary forms with witness signatures. Perform clerical duties including faxing, scanning, and filing, and communicate issues to the Office Supervisor. Requires high school diploma, basic computer proficiency, and ability to commute to satellite offices. Eligible for an annual bonus up to $6,000.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate/GED / Equivalent
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner
- Basic proficiency in computer use
- Knowledge of medical office and terminology
- Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed

- Vocational / Technical School / Diploma Program
- Associate's Degree
- 0 - 1 years' experience
- 2-4 years' experience
- Demonstrates flexibility with various work schedules, covers for other staff when asked including other office locations
- Demonstrates the ability to adequately follow downtime procedures
- Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned
