Job Summary
Greet patients, check them in, and process copays while managing MyChart and EMR appointments. Schedule internal and external referrals, including telehealth visits and surgeries, using Epic Cadence decision trees. Collect point-of-service payments for copays, co-insurance, and deductibles, then assist with MyChart activation and self-check-in workflows. Secure patient signatures, scan documents, and ensure proper front desk coverage until the last patient is dismissed. Participate in daily huddles, support patient experience initiatives, and maintain workspace cleaning and PPE guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- 1 or more years customer service or health care experience
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
- High level of customer service skills focusing on problem resolution
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
- Expected to provide coverage at alternate locations to help meet critical staffing level needs, as delegated by management
- Expected to complete necessary training and successfully pass 30-60-90-day quality assessments
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
Desired Qualifications
- College coursework completed towards an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- Clerical, registration and/or customer service experience within a health care setting
- If bilingual-Documented proof of competencies via language proficiency assessments
