Job Summary
Oversee the administrative duties of the Center by moving patients through the check-in and check-out process. Provide a courteous, professional working environment while maintaining efficient patient flow, updating demographics, and interviewing patients for sliding fee scale services. Verify insurance, set eligibility dates, and collect payments and patient-responsible balances. Post charges to patient accounts, scan and import documentation into charts, and schedule appointments to accommodate walk-ins. Answer the multi-line telephone system, direct patients to proper departments, and provide medical records as requested. Maintain effective communication with patients, coworkers, and the supervisor while operating office equipment including fax, copier, and credit card machines. Contribute to the positive image of front office operations and perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer-friendly attitude
- Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Money and balancing skills
- Knowledge of bank deposits
- Good communication skills
- Ability to function effectively under stress
- Good evaluative judgment
- Computer literacy
- Ability to perform accurate data entry
- Ability to work well with people
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods of time
- Ability to handle and/or feel objects, tools, etc.
- Ability to frequently walk, stand, and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Vision abilities must include vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
