Job Summary
The Patient Service Representative acts as a liaison between patients and the clinical staff, performing clerical and reception duties and assisting in administrative tasks. Responsibilities include scheduling appointments based on guidelines, using the electronic health system for requests and reports, performing real-time eligibility checks for insurance benefits, ensuring authorizations are linked to appointments, registering patient demographics and billing information, collecting copays, handling daily deposits, and preparing after-visit summaries. The role supports clinic daily operations, manages document handling and distribution, processes electronic and paper communications, and provides exceptional customer service. It requires basic math, strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency with electronic medical records and MS Office, and the ability to interact with diverse populations while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. PPE usage and adherence to laws and policies are necessary, with potential involvement in onboarding new caregivers and supporting lean process improvements. Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
