Job Summary
Greet patients, manage front office operations, and check individuals in for appointments while sanitizing rooms. Answer phone calls to route appropriate team members, register new patients into laboratory EMR, and schedule appointments. Send and verify consents, take payments with the Ovation Billing team, and process lab report results to physicians via fax. Perform data entry, act as a liaison between lab staff and the medical team, and coordinate specimen transfers by collecting records and organizing shipments. Assist lab staff with administrative projects and complete all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years previous experience in an administrative role
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and within deadlines
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to use billing systems
Desired Qualifications
- Medical office experience
- Knowledge of medical software, terminology and procedures
- Knowledge of HIPAA Regulations
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability with exercising sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information
