Job Summary
The Patient Service Representative (PSR) in a podiatry/medical-office setting serves as a key member of a multidisciplinary team, handling a variety of administrative duties to support patient care and ensure efficient operations. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, managing patient flow during registration, answering and directing calls, communicating schedule delays, updating patient demographics and PCP information in the EHR, posting self-pay charges and processing payments, reconciling daily payments and deposits, verifying insurance, scheduling and coordinating diagnostic tests and referrals, obtaining pre-authorizations, coordinating patient portal enrollment, and performing general clerical duties. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service, proficiency with EHR and practice-management systems, and the ability to work across office locations with flexibility in scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED required
- Associate Degree preferred
- Previous PSR experience preferred
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing
- Must have excellent customer service skills
- Must have the ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner
- Knowledge of medical office and terminology preferred
- Basic proficiency in computer use required
- Previous experience with EHR, Practice Management System and Departmental/Ancillary Systems preferred
