Job Summary
Patient Service Representative at University Hospitals Urgent Care manages front-office operations and enhances the patient experience. Responsibilities include greeting patients, handling documentation, verifying insurance, communicating billing/policy details, collecting payments, supporting the practice manager and staff, ensuring HIPAA/OSHA compliance, performing general administrative tasks, and traveling to other UH Urgent Care locations as needed. Requires strong communication, attention to detail, ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare setting, EMR experience (EPIC preferred), and availability for 12-hour shifts including some weekends/holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, Medical Administrative Assistant certificate a plus
- Experience: 1+ year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, multitask in busy environment
- Technical Skills: EMR software experience, EPIC preferred
- Flexibility: 12-hour shifts, some weekends and holidays
- Team Player: proactive, friendly, patient-focused approach
