Job Summary

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) welcomes patients and families, schedules appointments and tests efficiently, handles phone calls professionally, collects cash payments, issues receipts, and posts payments. The role involves daily extensive computer use across multiple applications, maintaining patient flow during registration, confirming future appointments, reviewing eligibility, and providing information about insurance and financial assistance options. Responsibilities include greeting patients, directing them appropriately, communicating with staff and physicians, processing payments, reconciling daily payments and deposits, updating patient information, handling forms and signatures, understanding the insurance grid for services, and assisting financial counselors as needed. The position requires strong multi-tasking, clerical duties (faxing, photocopying, scanning, filing, mailings), accurate data entry, and the ability to work flexible schedules across satellite offices. Education and experience expectations include a high school diploma or GED with 0-1 years of experience (2-4 years preferred) and basic computer proficiency. Knowledge of medical office terminology is preferred, and the role may require commuting to satellite offices.
