Job Summary

Patient Service Representative I provides front-desk and phone-based customer service to ensure a positive patient experience. Responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, registering patients and updating demographics, collecting co-payments and balances, obtaining referrals and authorizations, scanning and filing medical records, scheduling appointments, guiding patient flow, answering inquiries with courtesy, maintaining stocked office supplies, protecting protected health information, and coordinating handoffs with clinicians. The role requires proficiency with computers and EMR systems, strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines, and adherence to confidentiality and compliance standards in a medical-office setting.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ customer service experience required.

Desired Qualifications

  • Some college work preferred
  • Experience in a medical office (urology) preferred
  • Basic knowledge of CPT procedure coding and ICD-10 diagnostic coding preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR systems would be beneficial
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced medical office
