Job Summary
Patient Service Representative I responsible for delivering excellent patient care experiences via front desk and phone interactions. Duties include greeting patients and visitors, registering patients, collecting and applying payments, verifying insurance, scheduling follow-up appointments, scanning and organizing medical records, and coordinating with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and accurate record-keeping. Proficienc y with Microsoft Office, EMR navigation, understanding of health insurance terminology (HMO, PPO, HSA, Medicare, CPT/ ICD-10), and strong organizational and communication skills are required to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and CMS guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Some college work preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years’ customer service experience
- Experience in a medical office; specifically, urology, preferred
- Basic knowledge and understanding of CPT procedure coding and ICD-10 diagnostic coding preferred
