Job Summary
Patient Access Representative is responsible for welcoming patients, registering demographics and insurance information, verifying benefits, determining financial responsibility, and collecting copays. Role supports efficient patient flow and compliance with payer guidelines, including pre-authorization where required, and handles visit check-out and scheduling follow-ups. Requires knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer guidelines, HIPAA/EMTALA familiarity, strong problem-solving and communication skills, ability to work in a high-volume environment, and proficiency with ADT-based systems and MS Outlook/Excel.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in patient access or insurance verification preferred (not required)
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with registration systems and Microsoft Office
