Job Summary
The PSR floats to multiple primary care locations (Clifton, Fair Lawn, Montclair, Glen Ridge, Nutley) and handles front-desk duties such as greeting patients, registering, scheduling, and processing payments. Responsibilities include answering calls, managing patient flow, posting self-pay charges, reconciling daily payments, processing insurance verifications, updating patient information, scheduling and confirming appointments, handling referrals and pre-authorizations, and coordinating with clinical staff. Requires strong customer service, organizational skills, HIPAA awareness, familiarity with medical office terminology, and experience with EHR/Practice Management systems. Travel to satellite offices as needed; flexibility with work across several locations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED required
- Associate Degree preferred
- Previous PSR experience preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to communicate in English (oral and written)
- Knowledge of medical office terminology
- Basic proficiency in computer use
- Experience with EHR, Practice Management System and Departmental/ Ancillary Systems preferred
- Travel ability to satellite offices as needed
