Job Summary
Greet patients and complete check-in procedures, including registration, data entry, insurance verification, and copay collection. Communicate regularly with clinical staff to ensure office needs are met while answering phone calls and email inquiries from patients and administrative departments. Manage electronic fax inboxes, distribute mail, and handle scheduling and data input tasks. Ensure patient data confidentiality and stay current with HIPAA regulations. This role supports Family Medicine North in Columbus, OH, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage time effectively and respond timely to patients and/or visitors
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and understanding of patient privacy and ability to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent computer skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft programs
- Understanding of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of administrative experience in a healthcare related setting
