Patient Service Representative - Ambulatory Float Pool

Job Summary

Greet, check in, and collect copays for high-volume ambulatory clinic patients while managing MyChart activations and EMR documentation. Schedule internal and external referrals, including telehealth visits and surgeries, using Epic Cadence decision trees to coordinate patient itineraries. Process external medical records, secure consent signatures, and support self-check-in workflows. Assist with post-visit follow-up scheduling and ensure proper front desk coverage until the last patient is dismissed. Maintain workspace standards, follow PPE guidelines, and participate in daily huddles and patient experience initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or GED
  • 1 or more years customer service or health care experience
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
  • High level of customer service skills focusing on problem resolution
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
  • Expected to provide coverage at alternate locations to help meet critical staffing level needs, as delegated by management
  • Expected to complete necessary training and successfully pass 30-60-90-day quality assessments

Desired Qualifications

  • College coursework completed towards an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
  • Clerical, registration and/or customer service experience within a health care setting
  • If bilingual-Documented proof of competencies via language proficiency assessments
