Job Summary
Register patients, manage scheduling, handle billing inquiries, and assist with MyChart access while securing required authorizations before appointments. Facilitate check-in and checkout procedures, collect payments, update demographics, and collaborate with clinical teams to resolve issues and improve care quality. Collect payments, update patient demographics, and assist in other departments to support operational efficiency. Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality for clinic, provider, RN, and patient information.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year of previous healthcare experience
- A minimum of 1 year of customer service experience
- Experience working with patients and providers
- Previous experience with busy phone lines
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage a great number of details
- Ability to multi-task with strong follow through
- The ability to take initiative, learn quickly and actively
- Computer proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel
- Ability to learn new programs with ease
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, volunteers and the public
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Comfort with people in all stages of health and healing
- Ability to adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain clinic, provider, RN and patient confidentially
- Ability to verify and process insurance eligibility
- Ability to obtain authorization requests
- Ability to verify personal credentials with external partners
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, volunteers and the public
- Excellent interpersonal skills

Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with patients and providers, using Epic (electronic health record)
