Job Summary
Create and verify the patient's electronic health record at registration, collect demographic, guarantor, and insurance details, discuss and collect co-pays, and guide patients through scheduling, tests, and arrival instructions. Maintain HIPAA-compliant handling of confidential information, explain insurance basics and patient financial responsibilities, and coordinate with Financial Advocates and care team to support accurate billing and patient care. Demonstrate strong customer service, multitasking, attention to detail, and effective written/verbal communication while using electronic medical records (EPIC) and insurance verification tools. Ensure compliance with EMTALA and Medicare/Medicaid rules, provide directions and transportation assistance as needed, and manage queues and inquiries with professionalism in a fast-paced hospital environment.
