Job Summary
Conduct check-out operations for physician practice patients by collecting and processing encounter form data, totaling outstanding balances, and balancing work and computer systems at end of day. Record changes in patient information, route telephone calls, and ensure procedures and diagnoses are properly recorded on fee slips for charge entry. Schedule appointments for return visits and end-of-day procedures, compile data for billing personnel, and maintain departmental policies, quality assurance programs, and safety standards. Collaborate with patients, physicians, and care team members while participating in required meetings, committees, and annual education assignments.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year experience in medical office setting
- working knowledge of clinic appointment scheduling
- collection
- experience in ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding (charge entry)
- minimum three (3) years of total customer facing/customer service experience
Desired Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED
