Job Summary
Maintain established departmental policies, quality assurance programs, and safety standards while processing encounter form data and collecting outstanding balances. Record changes in patient information, route telephone calls, and ensure procedures and diagnoses are properly recorded on fee slips for charge entry. Schedule appointments for return visits and end-of-day procedures, compile billing data, and balance work and computer daily. Collaborate with patients, physicians, and care team members within a team-based approach to patient care, while attending required meetings and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- One (1) year experience in medical office setting
- working knowledge of clinic appointment scheduling
- collection
- experience in ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding (charge entry)
- minimum three (3) years of total customer facing/customer service experience
Desired Qualifications
- HS diploma or GED
