Job Summary
Process all OSS patient service activities including phone calls, scheduling, insurance verification, follow-ups, chart maintenance, and filing. Manage high-volume patient scheduling by receiving calls, verifying authorizations, building charts, collecting payments, and balancing the money nightly. Maintain daily statistical logs, pull appointment charts, and make reminder calls while resolving issues from the task list. Communicate with staff via email and coordinate with billing and treating teams to address patient matters. Open and sort mail daily, participate in educational activities, and attend monthly meetings. Perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of insurance and the verification process
- Knowledge of computer programs
- Knowledge of business office procedures
- Ability to operate a computer, scanner, fax/copy, and basic office equipment
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system
- Effective oral and written communication with patients, staff, insurers, and referral sources
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
- Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize Tasks
- High School graduation or equivalent AND three years of experience in an appropriately related position OR Equivalent education/experience
