Job Summary
Process all OSS patient service activities including phone calls, scheduling, insurance verification, follow-ups, chart maintenance, and referral communication. Manage high-volume patient scheduling by receiving calls, verifying insurance, obtaining authorizations, building charts, collecting payments, balancing nightly reports, and pulling next-day appointment charts. Resolve daily patient issues from the task list, communicate with billing and treating staff via email, and open mail. Maintain daily statistical logs and attend monthly staff meetings. Requires high school graduation, three years of related experience, and knowledge of insurance verification and office procedures. Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., 40 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of insurance and the verification process
- Knowledge of computer programs
- Knowledge of business office procedures
- Ability to operate a computer, scanner, fax/copy, and basic office equipment
- Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system
- Effective oral and written communication with patients, staff, insurers, and referral sources
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
- Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize Tasks
- High School graduation or equivalent AND three years of experience in an appropriately related position OR Equivalent education/experience
- Must be available Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Must be available for a total of 40 hours per week
