Job Summary
Escort and transport patients within the facility, operating elevators and maintaining transport equipment per infection control protocols. Record patient movement and assignment details in the transport tracking system while picking up and delivering materials and equipment to various hospital departments. Handle I.V and oxygen tanks according to established procedures, assist clinical staff with patient transfers, and evaluate patient readiness for transport. Recognize cardio-pulmonary distress symptoms, initiate code team requests, and provide interim basic life support for airway management and cardiac arrests. Remove defective equipment to the supervisor and report any changes in patient status during transit.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification within the first three (3) months from Date of Hire

- Prior hospital experience
