Job Summary
Responsible for patient admissions and registration in a Family Medicine clinic, including initial financial counseling, cashiering, pre-authorization when needed, and accurate data entry for demographic and insurance information. Performs cashier duties, collects co-pays and deductibles, balances cash drawer, and processes deposits. Requires professional, customer-focused communication, ability to handle multiple phone calls with confidentiality, and cross-training to all Patient Access functions. Works on-site in a clinic setting, with tasks spanning registration, billing documentation, payments, and ongoing patient communications.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED or Associates degree
- Minimum Work Experience: Computer experience; ability to problem solve; adapt to different schedules and clinics
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, phone and customer service skills
- Preferred: Experience with insurance billing or medical admitting/cashiering; medical or general office experience preferred
