Patient Scheduler Team Lead

Job Summary
Serve as a resource for scheduling and referral team members by fielding questions and providing resolutions. Ensure staff process referrals and patient calls timely and accurately. Assist the Director of Patient Experience in developing team scripting, ensuring compliance and performance. Provide new hire training and guidance during onboarding, and assist in the interview and selection process for new staff. Handle multiple projects while managing scheduler duties, including resolving problems and communicating professionally with outside representatives. Requires NextGen HER software knowledge, bilingual Spanish and English skills, and 8-hour day shifts Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Two to Five years of scheduler experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of medical scheduling practices and regulations, both external and internal
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with outside representatives to resolve patient accounts
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Ability to analyze and understand complex written communication
- Ability to handle multiple projects while working scheduler duties
- Knowledge of EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and basic computer skills
- 1+ years of experience working in an office, clerical or medical facility
- Experience with electronic scheduling system and electronic medical records (EMR) required
- On site required
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical practice NextGen HER software (preferred)
- Knowledge of insurance benefit structures
- MS Office, basic office support skills (telephone, filing, data entry) and basic math skills
- Excellent telephone etiquette, pleasant personality and customer service skills
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
