Patient Scheduler – Call Center

Job Summary
Manage provider schedules to ensure appointment accuracy and efficiency while answering multi-line calls and verifying insurance eligibility. Schedule patient appointments, update medical history, and provide pre-appointment instructions such as required documents. Serve as the onshore escalation point for complex rescheduling and provider conflicts, owning high-touch interactions for new patient consults and provider relationships. Process incoming faxes, update patient charts, and perform QA reviews on offshore calls to maintain scheduling standards. Collaborate with providers and staff to support seamless operations within a fast-paced clinical environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities
- Excellent judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and independently
- Professional communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Frequent use of office equipment (phones, keyboard, copier, fax machine)
- Occasional lifting, bending, or reaching (up to 25 lbs)
- The role is performed in an office, clinic, or surgical center with frequent interruptions
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience with medical scheduling and EMR systems
- Prior experience working with a call center or BPO vendor
