Job Summary
Under the direction of the RN, continuously observe hospitalized patients to ensure safety, promote positive relationships, and report changes in condition or behavioral concerns. Obtain vital signs as requested, assist with hygiene, linen changes, repositioning, nourishment, and medical procedures while maintaining documentation in the electronic medical record. Ensure coverage by the RN or designee prior to leaving patients unattended. Requires AHA BLS/CPR certification, ability to lift 35 lbs, and tolerance for irregular evening, night, and weekend hours. Pay range is $17.00.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to speak, read, and understand written orders
- Ability to write reports in English
- AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire
- Constant (67-100% of workday) use of arms and hands
- Frequent (34-66% of workday) standing, walking, and sitting
- Occasional (0-33% of workday) bending, stooping, and squatting
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
- Ability to push and pull up to 20 lbs.
- Auditory and visual skills to include color determination
- Possesses critical thinking and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Capacity to cope with difficult situations
- Ability to tolerate irregular hours including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
