Patient Safety Attendant

Maintains patient safety and security; remains alert and attentive; monitors patient behavior with line-of-site when assigned to patient sitter duties; follows established standards for growth and development from preschool through adulthood; sets limits on patient behavior under direction of a registered nurse or mental health clinician; enforces rules and manages telephone usage; performs other duties such as unit supply stocking, environmental care, and room preparation; follows patient care plan with RN and communicates inappropriate or non-compliant behavior; documents required safety checks; manages visitation and ensures safety of belongings; maintains patient confidentiality; supports basic activities and assists with transports as directed by the RN.
