Patient Safety Attendant - Full Time Nights

Job Summary
Observe patient behavior, communicate with designated patients, de-escalate situations, and notify nursing personnel if conditions change or assistance is required. Assist Patient Care Technicians and nursing staff with basic functions for the assigned patient while maintaining strict adherence to scope of practice. Obtain BLS/CPR certification within 90 days and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification within 60 days of hire. Meet all physical demand requirements outlined in ADA guidelines. This role is part of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System's commitment to keeping people safe through rigorous background screening via The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Required Qualifications
- BLS\CPR certification within ninety (90) days of start date
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification obtained within sixty (60) days of hire date
- Physical demand requirements indicated within the ADA requirements be met at the time of and throughout employment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare field
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills to provide calm verbal feedback to patients, re-direct behavior, and reinforce safety with patients
- Knowledge/experience of growth and development, and possess the ability to interact, communicate and care for specific patient population with care and compassion
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
