Job Summary

Coordinate hospital-wide patient safety initiatives and daily operations at Salem Hospital, collaborating with Directors, Managers, and hospital leadership to advance Informed High Reliability concepts. Facilitate the internal medical peer review process, analyze serious patient concerns and adverse events, and assist in preparing for regulatory or accreditation agency visits. Maintain confidentiality of peer review and risk management information while recommending corrective actions to reduce risk. Assist in reviewing hospital policies, identifying implementation barriers, and providing education to nurses and physicians on non-punitive reporting and error prevention. Must be available for hospital-declared emergencies and regulatory reviews. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related field with 1-2 years of healthcare experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, or Related Field of Study
  • Experience with computer and Internet
  • Healthcare experience with clinical background
  • Experience working in a large healthcare organization
  • Presentation skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Project management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)
  • Must be available to work in the case of a hospital-declared emergency
  • Must be available to assist during regulatory agency reviews
