Job Summary
Patient Safety Advocate provides constant face-to-face observation of patients under the direction of the RN/Charge Nurse to ensure a safer environment, monitors for unsafe behaviors, uses healing conversation and distraction strategies to redirect patients, and assists with activities of daily living such as eating, ambulation, turning and positioning. The role requires timely communication with the RN/Charge Nurse about changes in patient condition, adherence to confidentiality and safety procedures, and performing duties outlined in the Patient Safety Advocate Guidelines. The position is Full Time with 36 hours per week clocked, and the patient-care-oriented responsibilities include reporting, documentation, and collaboration with nursing staff to establish patient care goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Formal Education: High School Diploma/GED preferred
- Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Responder course - completed during Orientation and renewed every 6 months
