Job Summary
Patient Right Advocate position in Contra Costa County within Sustainable Wellness Solutions' Office of Patients’ Rights. Responsibilities include representing clients in certification review hearings and complaint resolution, investigating and resolving rights violation complaints in licensed health or community care facilities, monitoring facilities for compliance with patient rights laws, informing clients of their legal rights, and providing training to providers on mental health laws and patient rights. The role emphasizes lived experience in mental health services, strong communication, ability to work in fast-paced environments, travel throughout Sacramento County (up to 50%), and DOJ background check clearance. Salary range is $22.00–$25.00 per hour (annualized $45,760–$52,000); bi-weekly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered. Required Qualifications
- Lived experience in mental health services preferred
- 1+ year of experience in customer support or mental health-related work preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of self-help philosophy and behavioral health systems
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Valid CA driver’s license, clean DMV record, proof of insurance, willingness to travel throughout Sacramento County (up to 50%)
- DOJ background check required
