Job Summary
Greet clients, answer phone calls, and schedule appointments to facilitate patient entry into Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers. Record patient demographics, insurance information, charges, and payments while entering registration data into the EMR system. Adhere to scheduling and clinical protocols to assist patients with appointments and re-route them to triage as necessary. Process sliding scale applications and compose messages to providers regarding patient communication. Maintain strict confidentiality of protected health information, enforce infection control guidelines, and participate in mandatory trainings. Work early, night, and weekend shifts as needed, with the ability to travel to other clinics and provide translation services upon request.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language
- Communicates effectively
- Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to effectively maintain confidentiality of records and communicate with all levels of personnel
- One year or less of clerical experience in an office setting
- Excellent organizational skills

- Strong basic computer skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to express the high-quality level of customer service
- Knowledge of chain of command and direct supervisor information
- Ability to obtain payment information and create claim to be submitted for reimbursement
- Knowledge of required screening forms for UDS and other QI
- Ability to adhere to scheduling protocol
- Ability to adhere to clinical protocol
- Ability to explain the sliding scale program
- Ability to compose messages to provider/staff regarding patient communication
- Accurate knowledge and comprehension of patient registration duties
- Ability to enter patient registration information into EMR system
- Knowledge of HIPAA, patient demographic, and benefits information
- Ability to follow and enforce established policies and procedures
- Ability to work early/night clinic and weekends as needed
- Ability to travel to other CRCHC to cover as needed
- Translation services capability upon request from management
