Job Summary
The Patient Relations Representative serves as the central contact for the University Eye Center in Anaheim Hills, greeting patients and visitors, verifying insurance eligibility when scheduling, checking patients in and out, and assisting with appointment creation and updates. Responsibilities include collecting patient information into the practice management system, printing and attaching paperwork, obtaining and verifying insurance authorizations, maintaining an electronic appointment reminder system, scanning insurance cards into electronic medical records, handling payments (cash, credit, checks) and reconciling them, creating patient files and demographic data entries, assisting with off-site payments and paperwork, addressing patient concerns, and supporting mass mailings for recruitment. The role requires prior customer service experience, computer and mathematical proficiency, and flexibility for some evenings and Saturdays; Spanish language skills are a plus. Education required: High School diploma or GED. Located at MBKU facilities in Fullerton/Anaheim area with related benefits and equal opportunity employment statements.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or GED
- six months related experience and/or training
- Prior experience in a customer service capacity
- Computer and mathematical skills are essential
- Flexibility to work some evenings and Saturdays
- Spanish is helpful
