Job Summary
Guide patients through registration and check-in on kiosk systems remotely, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience. Verify insurance eligibility and co-payments prior to patient arrival, then answer post-visit phone inquiries and respond to virtual mail with empathy and accuracy. Process payments, issue refunds, and investigate insurance claims while maintaining accurate patient account balances. Submit medical records and process referrals for primary care patients in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and company policies. Manage all requests efficiently via the internal ticketing portal. This rotating 5/2 schedule includes 12-hour weekday shifts and 8-hour weekend shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ year of professional office or customer service experience
- Tech-savvy and confident using computers—comfortable jumping between programs, learning new systems, and connecting basic hardware devices such as keyboards and headphones
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for helping others
- This position is in-office (not remote), located at our headquarters in downtown Birmingham, AL
- You must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work
- This role follows a rotating 5/2 schedule
- Weekday Shifts: 12 hour shifts from 8:30AM – 8:30PM
- Weekend Shifts: 8 hour shifts from 1:30PM – 9:30PM
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of: referrals, medical records, insurance verification or medical billing processes is a plus, but not required
