Patient Registration Representative

Job Summary
Conduct inpatient and outpatient registrations by obtaining patient identification, demographics, and financial information to secure encounters. Perform bedside admissions for scheduled, non-scheduled, and emergent patients, entering accurate data into the computer system including names, diagnoses, and medical record numbers. Greets patients and relatives, interviews for pertinent information, and collects co-payments or deposits as required. Balance cash drawers at the end of the day, manage patient valuables, and ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid insurance rules. Complete MSPQ forms, sign consent documents, and participate in staff training. Provides coverage in all admitting areas and handles assigned special projects or administrative duties. Full-time position.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
Desired Qualifications
- 1 or more years of experience in clerical, registration and/or customer service within a health care setting
