Job Summary
Calculate and secure patient liability, including copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles, while performing all tasks related to registration and pre-registration for outpatient and inpatient accounts. Communicate effectively with staff, patients, guarantors, insurance companies, and physicians using strong written and verbal skills. Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA laws and demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Type at 45 wpm or higher and utilize insurance knowledge to ensure accurate billing. Travel to off-site outpatient locations as needed. Requires one year of medical office or hospital experience, strong computer proficiency, and bilingual Spanish or Chinese preferred.
