Job Summary
Patient Registrar needed to greet and check in patients, collect co-pays and balances, obtain insurance information and referrals, and update demographics across multiple Hartford-area offices. Responsibilities include pre-registration calls, collecting payments, rooming patients, assisting with health histories, and supporting medical secretaries with phones and patient sessions. Requires high school diploma and 2+ years in a medical office with registration experience; familiarity with insurance carriers/plans; strong communication, customer service, and computer skills (Epic EMR, Word, Outlook, Excel); valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to offices. Must be flexible with morning start times (as early as 6:30 am) and able to multitask in a changing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma plus a minimum of two years' experience in a medical office with registration background
- Knowledge of medical insurances
- Must have a current driver's license and auto insurance, as well as reliable transportation
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent computer skills, including Epic EMR software, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
