Job Summary
Represent EvergreenHealth as welcoming officials to patients and visitors and be responsible for accurate and courteous registration of patients, initiating the patient revenue cycle, verifying insurance, and directing patients to financial counseling as needed. Duties include interviewing patients to obtain demographic and billing information, completing pre-registration (in person or by phone), assisting with consent forms, handling point-of-service collections, using electronic systems for verification, coordinating with the House Supervisor for admits, updating patient type changes, informing patients of scheduled times, and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to be flexible in work assignments, detail oriented and organized
- Strong communication skills to effectively obtain information from patients and physicians
- Ability to function independently, organize work, multitask, and establish priorities
- Numerical ability to discuss financial arrangements including deposit requirements
- Ability to exercise good judgment in emergent situations, problem solving, and retain composure in stressful situations
- Detail oriented and organized
- Ability to manage work volume and disseminate status updates to team members
