Job Summary
Provide accurate registration for billing by gathering patient information for inpatients, outpatients, and all other registration points. Conduct patient interviews, financial counseling, and insurance verification while explaining hospital policies on visitation, payments, and services. Handle routine inquiries and problems to ensure positive public relations and meet customer service expectations. Administer MUSC Health Patient Financial Services policies according to established guidelines. Mid-shift position with hours between 11:00 AM and 11:30 PM, requiring availability for every other weekend.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment
- Must be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards
- Must be available to work every other weekend
- Must be fully trained in and understand MUSC Health Patient Financial Services policies and procedures related to the position
