Job Summary
Review referrals in the EMR, call patients, verify insurance authorizations, and schedule appointments to ensure patients receive the right care at the right time with the right physician. Work closely with ambulatory practices in a high-volume business office call center while maintaining strict confidentiality. This role requires organizing, analyzing, and prioritizing work while exhibiting exceptional communication and negotiating skills to interact with payers, providers, and patients. Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is required, with data entry experience preferred. Full-time position with Monday–Thursday 10 AM–6 PM and Friday 9 AM–5 PM hours.
Required Qualifications
- GED, high school diploma or completion of professional training program
- Two years of related experience in a clinical environment
- Ability to organize, analyze and prioritize work
- Exhibit exceptional communication and negotiating skills to interact with payers, providers and patients
- Must possess the initiative and drive to take a project from beginning to a successful completion
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy required
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of payer portals and EMR scheduling a plus
- Data entry experience preferred
